The National Football League has decided to recognize 4/20 as a national holiday, sort of. Cannabis testing is now limited to the first two weeks of training camp – thanks to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. This means April 20 is in the clear for players.
NFL linebacker-turned-cannabis-physician Dr. Hervé Damas is hopeful. He believes that this is a signal that the league is finally taking the science around cannabis use seriously.
“I think this effort to gather information is a step in the right direction and something that’s been a long time coming… You have the data, you know what’s going on, and now it’s time to say, listen, guys, this is an option, too.”
